Alison Sawyer
Horn

Alison Sawyer is a professional horn player and music educator, currently serving as the Professor of Horn at Hamline University. Since 2003, she has been an active freelance horn player, performing across Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and the Bay Area. In addition to her role at Hamline, Alison teaches music with the Minneapolis Public Schools.

She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, a Master's degree in Horn Performance from Northwestern University, and a Master's in Teaching Music from the University of Southern California. Her primary teachers include Gail Williams (Chicago Symphony), Bob Ward (San Francisco Symphony), and Charles Kavalovski (Boston Symphony).

When she is not playing her horn or teaching, she enjoys traveling, working with plants, creating macrame art, being in nature, and spending quality time with her husband and daughter.
